시놉시스 Synopsis
먼 미래, 우주비행사인 주인공은 기나긴 탐사임무를 마치고 지구로 귀환하던 중, 이름 모를 별에 불시착한다. 아무런 준비도 없이 행성에 떨어진 주인공은 지구로 다시 돌아가기 위해 통신을 시도하지만, 주인공이 가지고 있는 장비로는 연락이 닿질 않는다. 시간은 끊임없이 흐르고 지구로 돌아갈 수 있는 가능성이 없어 보이는 절망적인 상황에서 주인공은 환각마저 보게 되는데…
In the far, far future, an astronaut was forced to land on some unknown planet, after his long exploration through space. Even he hasn’t prepared for such emergency, he consistently tries to communicate to planet earth. Which didn’t work out cause his device was unable to reach them. Time passes by, and he becomes more and more anxious that he sees illusions as chances seem to run out.
연출의도 Purpose
누구나 이별을 맞이할 수 있다. 그만큼 우리에게 이별은 지구 주변을 떠돌아다니는 소행성과도 같다. [별의 거리]는 헤어진 연인에 대한 그리움과 후회를, 우주비행사가 이름 모를 행성에 충돌한 것에 비유하여 표현한 작품이다. 작중 지구는 '연인'을 상징하며, 연인에게 돌아가고 싶지만, 돌이킬 수 없는 현실을 연출로 표현하고자 했다. 또한 초반의 흑백 연출에서, 후반의 컬러 연출 간 대비를 통해 '이별에 대한 심리'를 표현하고자 했으며, 이별의 끝은 '색이 있어도 활기없는 일상의 모습이다'를 표현하고자 저채도 컬러로 연출을 했다.
Anyone can experience partings. Which also seems like one of the asteroids around earth. [Distance of star] shows longings and regrets to his former lover through an astronaut colliding on some unknown planet. In the animation, planet earth means ‘lover’, and we tried to direct the irretrievable reality that he can’t get back to his lover even though he wants to. Also, we directed with contrasts of the colors to express ‘the feels when breakups’, and depressed colors to show that ends of the relationship is ‘dull, even with colors’.
