시놉시스 Synopsis

태국의 한 마을, 뽐뺌은 오늘도 혼자 하루를 보낸다. 어느 날, 잃어버린 공을 찾아 한 지하실을 발견하고 거기 무언가가 소년을 기다리고 있는데...

In a village in Thailand, PpomPpam spends his days all alone. One day, he comes across an abandoned cellar while looking for his lost ball. It looks like something is waiting for the boy inside.

연출의도 Purpose

뽐뺌은 부모님에게 마땅한 관심을 받지 못하는 외로운 소년입니다. 뽐뺌의 엄마는 뽐뺌을 위해 일을 하느라 정작 뽐뺌을 돌보지 못합니다. 뽐뺌 스스로 외로움을 해소하는 과정에서 파리지옥을 마주하게 되고, 혼자 버려져 있는 상황에 동질감을 느낍니다. 이후 뽐뺌은 독특한 애정을 파리지옥에게 베풀게 됩니다. 지금까지는 본인이 관심 받기만을 갈망하던 소년이 스스로 관심을 주고 돌봐주는 대상이 생기며 내면의 변화와 혼란을 겪고, 남의 애정에 의지하기보다 스스로 사랑을 나눌 줄 아는 사람으로 성장하는 과정을 그리고 싶었습니다.

PpomPpam is a solitary boy that doesn't get much-needed attention from his parents. His mother doesn't have time to take care of him, ironically because she is working to earn money for him. PpomPpam comes across the Venus Flytrap during his time alone, and feels resemblance in that they are both abandoned and lonely. Hereafter, pomPpam forms a special bond with the Venus Flytrap and directs his eccentric love towards it. We wanted to depict his growth as the boy who only starved for attention until now finds a subject for him to love and care for, and goes through internal turmoil and change. Finally, he grows into a person that is able to share love himself, rather than depending on others' affection.
