시놉시스 Synopsis

나는 엄마를 죽였다.

I killed my mother.

연출의도 Purpose

2011년. 고3 남학생이 어머니를 죽이고, 8개월 동안 시체를 안방에 그대로 방치한 채 생활을 했다. 살해 동기는 어머니의 극심한 폭력 때문이었다. 그의 성적이 떨어질 때마다 어머니의 폭력은 새벽까지 계속되었다. 그렇게 5년 동안이나 말이다. 

[갈라파고스]는 이 사건을 모티브로 한다. 악랄한 부모의 학대 속에서 한 소년이 자신에게 다가온 죽음을 피하기 위해 어머니를 죽인다. 과연 이 소년에게 죄가 있을까? 있다면 그 누가 어떤 죄를 물을 수 있을까?

In South Korea in 2011, A high school boy killed his mother and for 8 months he lived with her body in the house. His murder motive was the extreme violence of his mother. Violence continued until dawn for every time his grades drop. 

That was repeated for 5 years. The short animated film [GALAPAGOS] is the motive of this case. In the persistent abuse of evil mother, the boy killed mother to avoid being killed by her. Is this boy guilty? If so, who can ask for any sins?
