줄거리 Story
▣메밀꽃 필 무렵
장돌뱅이인 허생원은 봉평에서 같은 장돌뱅이인 조선달, 동이를 만난다. 길에서 허생원은 봉평에서 만난 한 여인과 의 꿈같은 인연을 이야기하고 동이도 사생아로 자신을 낳은 그의 어머니 이야기를 한다. 허생원은 동이 모친의 친정이 봉평이라는 사실과 동이가 자기와 똑같이 왼손잡이인 것을 알고는 착잡한 감회에 사로잡힌다.
▣봄봄
점순이의 데릴사위인 나는 3년 7개월 동안 돈 한 푼 안 받고 장인의 일을 도왔다. 하지만 장인은 점순이가 덜 자랐다고 성례를 미루기만 하던 차에 어느 날은 장인과 크게 다투었다. 내 편을 들 줄 알았던 점순이조차 장인 편을 들기 시작하는데..
▣운수 좋은 날.
아픈 아내, 어린 아기와 함께 살며 인력거꾼으로 일하는 김첨지는 어느 겨울 날 아내의 만류를 뿌리치고 일을 나선다. 유난히 많은 손님을 받으며 돈을 번 김첨지는 아내가 먹고 싶다던 설렁탕을 사오지만, 이미 아내는 싸늘한 주검이 된 후이다.
▣When the Buckwheat Flowers Bloom
Heo Saeng-won is an old merchant in the market. After peddling his wares all day long, he meets Cho Sundaland Dong-i. During their conversation, Saeng-won recounts a dreamlike encounter with a woman in Bongpyeong. Dong-i talks about his mother who is a single mother. When Saeng-won hears that he is from Bongpyeong and left-handed just like himself, he has mixed feelings about it.
▣Spring Spring
The master promised to allow me to wed his daughter, Jeomsoon, on the condition that I help him. Having faith in his promise, I have worked for nothing for nearly four years.
One day, I had a big argument with him. For years, he kept postponing the marriage, claiming that his daughter was too young. I believed Jeomsoon would be on my side, but she took her father’s side instead.
▣A Lucky Day
Kim is a rickshaw driver. His wife has fallen ill, so he works hard to earn enough money to help her recover. One day, his wife asks him to stay with her instead of going to work, but he heads out anyway. He earns a lot of money that day thanks to the arrival of many customers. However, by the time that he returns home with ox bone soup, which his wife had wanted in the past, it is too late. She had already passed away.
