시놉시스 Synopsis
“못 먹는 감 한번 찔러본다”는 한국의 속담을 바탕으로 이야기를 펼쳐 나가면서, 인간의 욕심과 카르마를 보여주는 작품입니다.
The story in, “Knife Hanging From A Tree” revolves around a fruit, persimmon, based off of a Korean traditional saying, directly translated to, [Sour grapes]. It is depicting the idea of greed and karma, and what a small simple thing/object could do to people.
연출의도 Purpose
사람이라는 존재가 자그마한 일에도 어떤 영향을 받는지, 그리고 그로 인해서 어떻게 변하는지를 보여주고 싶었다. 여러 가지 세상에서 일어나는 사건들을 보면, 아주 끔찍하고 이상한 사건들이 많다. 그러한 사건들을 일으킨 몇 사람들은 정말 의도나 이유가 확실하다. 반면, 어떤 사람들은 이렇게 대답한다, “…그냥. 그냥 했다.”
‘감’이라는 과일 자체가 한국에서는 아주 탐스러운 것(욕구)이라고 들은 후, 그 작은 물건을 시작으로 사람들이 욕심을 부리게 되면 어떻게 될지 궁금해서 이야기를 만들어봤다.
I wanted to show how people are influenced by the smallest things, and how they are changed by them. When we see the many different things that happen in the world, there are so many bizarre and terrible events. Some of the perpetrators have a clear reason or motive. But on the other hand, some perpetrators simply say, “I just did it.”
Permissions are a fruit that are very popular in Korea, and an object of temptation. This small fruit was the starting point for exploring a story about the consequences of people’s greed and desire.
