시놉시스 Synopsis
주인공 김소라는 ‘치과 치료’라는 거부할 수 없는 문제로부터 도망친다. 달려가는 주인공을 쫓아오는 거대한 치아 모형은 주인공을 재촉하고 불안하게 만든다. 인위적인 식물들로 가득한 치과에서 겨우 벗어난 주인공은 익숙한 숲에 도착하지만 편안함을 느끼는 것도 잠시, 숲은 콘크리트 도시로 변한다.
Sora KIM tries to run away from the dentist. She is chased by a giant tooth, filling her with pressure and anxiety. Sora escapes from the dentist’s office which is filled with artificial plants and arrives in a familiar forest. Her relief is only brief as the forest soon transforms into a concrete city.
연출의도 Purpose
언제나 그 자리에 존재했던 산은 어릴 때 놀던 놀이터였고, 가족과 함께 보내는 휴양지였고 산책길이었으며 봄소풍의 단골 장소였다. 그 자연 속에 ‘숲세권’이라 불리는 값비싼 아파트들이 병풍처럼 들어섰다. 익숙했던 풍경은 사라지고, 숲은 자본을 가진 누군가의 정원이 되었다. 풍경의 변화는 추억이 사라짐을 의미한다. 지친 삶에 안정을 주었던 풍경과 그 속에 담겨 있던 기억들이 사라지고 매 순간 새롭게 변하는 동네는, 너도 발빠르게 과거를 잊고 변화하라고 재촉하는 것만 같다.
상상에서 벗어나 수동적인 태도로 치과 진료실에 앉아 있는 주인공은 얇은 지갑에서 카드를 꺼내 수납을 한다. 병원을 나온 무거운 발걸음 뒤로 도시 개발이 한창이다. 불안으로 가득한 삶. 주인공은 어디서 위안을 받을 수 있을까?
The mountain had long been a place where people who go with their families for rest, play, hiking, and picnics in the spring. But now it is walled off by expensive apartments. The once-familiar natural landscape has disappeared, becoming a private garden belonging to wealthy individuals. These changes in the landscape are a sign of our vanishing memories. The natural scenery and memories that once comforted us in our difficult lives are disappearing from our ever-changing communities, almost as if we are being pushed to forget our past and change with the times.
The main character steps out of the imagination and sits passively in the dentist’s office, removing a credit card from a nearly empty wallet and then putting it away. In a life full of anxiety, where can we turn to for solace?
