친화득B Chouinard B

시놉시스 Synopsis
40대 초반의 영수는 아직 임용되지 못한 시간강사로 3년 전부터 암벽등반에 취미가 생겨 산악회 회원으로 활동하고 있다.
다음 달에 출산할 만삭의 아내, 시간강사로 일정치 못한 수입 등으로 인해 자신의 인생이 불안하고, 위태롭게 느껴진다. 그가 갖고 있는 그나마 유일한 피신처는 주말 마다 하는 암벽등반이다. 여느 날과 같이 아내의 잔소리를 뒤로 산행을 나간다.
인수봉의 ‘취나드B’길을 선배 한 분과 함께 2인 등반을 시작한다. 등반 과정 동안, 평범하지 않은 길 이름에 대하여 추리해보고, 자신의 현실 상황을 떠올리고, 또 등반에 집중도 하면서 어렵사리 산행을 진행해 나간다. 크랙 지점이 시작되는 3피치쯤에서 한 무리의 이름 모를 꽃들을 발견하고는 혹시 이길 이름의 이유가 여기에 있지 않았을까 생각하며 길 이름을 ‘친화득(親花得)’이라고 생각한다. 그리고 아내를 위한 한 송이를 힙색에 집어넣는다.
힘들게 힘들게 길의 끝에 올라 섰을 때, 길 이름이나, 현실의 시름, 미래의 불안이란 전혀 상관없이 즐거움과 만족감으로 기쁨을 만끽한다. 때마침 그 곳에서 만난 6~70대의 외국인 노인등반가의 이름이 ‘이본 취나드’ 라는 것도 상관없이 말이다.
그리고 등반을 마친 후 그는 만삭의 아내가 좋아하는 딸기 한 바구니와 취나드B에서 얻은 꽃 한 송이를 들고 만족스런 마음을 안고 집으로 돌아간다.
Yeongsu is a part-time instructor in his early 40s who hasn’t been able to find a full-time position. 3 years ago, he got into rock climbing and has been active in a rock climbing club. His wife is due next month. He feels anxious that he doesn't earn a set salary, and things are always uncertain.
The only refuge he has is the rock climbing he does every weekend. He heads out for his rock climb to his wife’s usual nagging.
He starts to climb a route called Chouinard B on Insubong with another club member.
He tries to figure out why the route is called such a peculiar name and thinks about his present reality as he focuses on the climb.
In a crack at the start of the 3rd pitch, he discovers a flower that he doesn’t know the name of and wonders if the route is called Chouinard B to mean that you can gain flowers on the climb.
He collects the flower to give to his wife.
After the difficult climb, he’s no longer thinking about why the route is called Chouinard B, the problems he faces in reality, or his concerns about the future. He’s just filled with joy and fulfillment from the achievement of the climb. Just then, an old foreigner in his 60s or 70s approaches him and says his name is Yvon Chouinard. But Yeongsu's too elated to even realize what that means.
After the climb, he goes to buy strawberries for his wife. He happily heads home with the strawberries and the flower he picked on the climb.
연출의도 Purpose
암벽등반을 즐기는 40대 남성의 소소한 이야기를 마치 그의 다이어리를 보는 것 같은 이미지로 표현하여, 재미있게 풀어내고 싶었습니다.
I wanted to tell you a little story about a man in his 40s who enjoys rock climbing as if he were looking at his diary, and I wanted to make it.
